Elvis’ Palm Springs Home
(1970 to 1977) Was Open
for Tours
Huell Howser ( California’s Gold) visits the Elvis Presley Estate in Palm Springs and gets a tour of one of only five homes in the world actually owned by Elvis Presley — and was his ‘get-a-way spot’ from 1970 until he died in 1977. Today it has new owners who respect its past history and are lovingly preserving it for future generations to visit and enjoy. It is a rare peek inside the 5100 sq. ft. mansion that is called Graceland West! Pricilla lived here with elvis from the time they bought the home until their divorce in 1973. Elvis then remodelled parts of the home as a playland for his buddies. Elvis recorded several records here, too, according to the current owner (2010)
The owner of the home at the time of this video, Reno, has since gone bankrupt, per blog reports and the home is currently closed for tours. One of the investors is said to be trying to reopen the home again for tours.See website http://elvispalmsprings.com
Elvis had yet another home in Palm Springs, this his Honeymoon home – and none other than the late great former mayor of Palm Springs, Sonny Bono and Morton Downey Jr. are our tour guides.
