Entering Diablo, a tiny town just inside or outside Danville, with

the most expensive homes in Contra Costa county. (Get there by taking the El Cerro exit off Fwy 680 and go about a mile until you reach Diablo Rd. Stay on Diablo until you reach the Diablo country club and bare left into it. The locals aren’t happy with bicyclists using their main street as a thoroughfare to Mt. Diablo, thus the signs posted in front of homes, like this blue one above. If you’ve never been to Diablo you should see one of the most beautiful spots in the Bay area. And, if you have a bike or are into long hikes take the Alameda Diablo Rd. straight through to the Green Valley Trail which will go all the way to the summitt of Mt. Diablo. (You don’t have to go oall the way but at least go the full Green Valley trail.

Perhaps the world’s smallest golf putting green with bench overlooking another beautiful home.

Green Valley Trail Takes over at the end of Alameda  Diablo and goes another mile or so until the final 5 mile leg up to Mt. Diablo

Summitt home at top of Green Valley Trail

Oops…We went to far… Green Valley Trail has two sections. Look for a trail sign like this which will take you on the final leg , perhaps the best . We still have to complete this last 5 mile plus stretch.

Keep straight if you  want to try for the Summitt or go right for a nice flatter trail that goes East but we can’t tell you how far.
